The Housing process for the 79th General Convention in Austin, Texas begins with receiving group block requests from all Dioceses. A mailing to affiliated Episcopal groups requesting a minimum of 5 rooms will be sent, at the end of July.
If you require at least 5 or more rooms for the duration of the General Convention, please contact Patrick Haizel.
Our negotiated sleeping room rates are offered from $139 to $145 per night, plus 15% tax.
Information on general Housing for individuals or groups under 5 rooms will be available on-line by the end of January 2018 and will be available on a first come, first served basis.
Exhibitor housing information will be sent from the Fern Exposition Company and will be available, with the ability to book on-line, starting in January 2018. Please note there is a minimum 5 nights stay for these rooms.

Registration for the 79th General Convention in Austin, Texas will commence at the end of January 2018.
Registration fees have been set as follows:
Official deputations and Bishops to Convention are registered through their Diocesan offices. Individual attendees are invited to return to this page in January 2018 to register.
Other registration options are available on site for the 79th General Convention: The Registration area will open July 03, 2018 at 9:00am.
|Visitors who register at the Convention Center:||$140 (for entire convention)|
|Youth Visitors 12-18:||$ 30 (for entire convention)|
|Visitors can register for only one day:||$ 50 (per day)|
|Access to visit the Exhibit Area only:||$ 15 (per day)|
Visitor Registration fees (with the exception of Exhibit Area only) allow access to all areas of the General Convention, including the Visitor galleries in the House of Deputies and the House of Bishops, Legislative Committee rooms and hearings, the Exhibit Area and Worship.
- On-line registration for the General Convention will open at the end of January 2018.
- All registrants are required to show a photo ID at the time of registration.

The meetings of The General Convention and The Episcopal Church Women need the support and dedication of volunteers to operate efficiently. Volunteers experience an understanding of the governance of The Episcopal Church and will meet others from the Diocese of Texas as well as people from all over The Episcopal Church. You may volunteer for as little as a half a day or for multiple shifts over many days. There are a variety of volunteer opportunities available for many skills and talents.

The 79th General Convention is scheduled for July 5th – 13th, 2018 at the Austin Convention Center.

Hotel Meeting Rooms & Affiliated Events
Meeting space at several General Convention hotels has been contracted by The Executive Office of the General Convention. Assignment of meeting space to support the work of the General Convention and the meeting of the Episcopal Church Women is our priority. Once these assignments are established, meeting space is available to other Episcopal groups for use.
The following hotels will have meeting space available:

- Courtyard Austin Downtown
If your group would like to request the use of space for a meal event or meeting function, please complete a meeting room request form by going to: https://www.generalconvention.org/meetingroomrequest
Meeting space assignments will be confirmed by March 2018. Requests may continue to be submitted after this time.
Once your meeting space is confirmed, it is the responsibility of the group to work directly with the hotel on details of your event or function and to establish credit for charges that might be incurred.
To better assist attendees, we are publishing a Master Calendar that will include affiliated events. Your event will be published on this calendar. If you wish to not publish your event, please make note in the comment section of your request.

Our exhibit area is designated as a market place and educational center for Deputies, Bishops, clergy and lay people from around our church and the world. Exhibiting at this convention provides a unique opportunity to reach this diverse audience. For the first time, we are offering an option for vendors to be present during our event for nine or four days.

Fern Exposition Company is handling the oversight of our Exhibit area. The ONLY official information with regards to Exhibiting at the 79th General Convention will either come from The Executive Office of General Convention or Fern Exposition.
